The story of KLOQ
KLOQ creates clocks that last for years, in both form and quality. This focus stems from a long family tradition. For three generations, the work revolved around alarm clocks, watches, and clocks. That knowledge and passion for the craft, combined with contemporary design, now form the foundation of every KLOQ.
The beginning
It begins just after the Second World War, in the Driebergenstraat in The Hague. Cornelis Ros opens a small shop selling alarm clocks and watches. A logical choice: people are getting back to their lives, returning to work, and therefore need to be somewhere on time again.
The 1970s
In the 1970s, Ben Ros takes over the business. The shop grows and the building next door is added. His son Arjan also works in the shop. Among clocks of all shapes and sizes, he becomes fascinated by the craft, and by the role that time has played in his family for so long.
Nowadays
That fascination gave birth to KLOQ: clocks with the stories of the past and the shapes of today.
Today, KLOQ operates from the NYMA in Nijmegen, and its collection is sold through more than 125 retail locations worldwide.
